Cruise Saudi, a company owned by the Public Investment Fund, announced it has joined the United Nations Global Compact. This is the world’s largest initiative for establishing sustainability principles in companies, aiming to promote social goals and achieve sustainable development.
The CEO of Cruise Saudi, Lars Clasen, stated that joining the United Nations Global Compact demonstrates the company’s commitment to the international community and the environment. Additionally, he expressed pride in joining over 20,000 global companies with a shared vision for positive, sustainable change.
Clasen also noted that “Saudi Cruise” is dedicated to aligning its strategies and corporate culture with the UN Global Compact’s ten principles on human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption, as part of its membership.
Furthermore, “Saudi Cruises” will join projects to support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on climate change and poverty reduction.
Renewable Sources
The Kingdom is committed to addressing energy challenges and climate change through ambitious programs and innovative solutions like the circular carbon economy. It also aims to generate 50% of its electrical power from renewable sources by 2030.
Sustainability is key to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The also Kingdom aims for a carbon-free future and plans to achieve net-zero emissions by 2060.
Furthermore, the United Nations Global Compact, launched in July 2000, is a voluntary initiative encouraging global companies and institutions to adopt sustainable and socially responsible practices.
