Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology (NCM) announced that rainfall is likely to increase across parts of the Kingdom by mid-next week, according to the Saudi Gazette.
The latest forecasts noted that the weather system is likely to sweep large parts of the Kingdom, including Tabuk, Madinah, Makkah, Al-Jouf, Hail and the Northern Borders, as well as the highlands of Asir, Jazan, Al-Baha, and the southern parts of the Eastern Province.
Therefore, the authorities urged the public to follow official updates and drive with caution during periods of heavy rain and low visibility.
Meanwhile, they advised citizens to abide by safety guidance outlined by civil defense authorities.
The NCM also urged residents to follow updates on the center’s official website, social media channels, and the “Anwa’a” app for detailed information on the governorates likely to be affected.
The center reported on Thursday active winds stirring dust and reducing horizontal visibility across the Eastern Province, Riyadh, Najran, Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and the Northern Borders.
The forecasts also include the possibility of fog developing during the night and early morning over the Eastern Province.
