The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) distributed economic empowerment bags in Al-Mahra Governorate yesterday, benefiting 24 women. This is part of a project with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to provide sustainable livelihoods for vulnerable women and girls in Yemen.
Colonel Mokhtar Mohammed Saeed Al-Jaafari, First Deputy Governor of Al-Mahra, expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center for their assistance. He noted that the distributed kits contain tools for sewing and pastry making, helping women start their own projects, improve their incomes, and enhance their living conditions.
The project aims to empower women and girls at risk and strengthen the capacities of those affected by gender-based violence through vocational training, professional programs, and psychological, social, and protection services. Additionally, it will focus on the governorates of Shabwah, Lahj, Al-Mahra, Marib, and Hadhramaut, ultimately reaching 42,960 women. Furthermore, the initiative seeks to create a supportive environment that fosters resilience and self-sufficiency among the targeted beneficiaries.
This extends the relief and humanitarian efforts by the Kingdom through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. Finally, this aims to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people affected by the crisis.
