Saudi Arabia Launches “10 Billion Steps” Campaign: A National Health Revolution

Why it matters: Saudi Arabia is transforming daily movement into a shared national movement. The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA) launched its ambitious “10 Billion Steps” initiative to inspire healthier lifestyles across the Kingdom while actively advancing Saudi Vision 2030 targets for community wellness and quality of life.

Running from July to December 2026, the nationwide campaign carries the inspiring slogan: “Don’t Count Your Steps, Let Them Count.”

Transforming Daily Routines into National Impact

The big picture: The initiative redefines physical activity. It shifts health from an intense workout requiring dedicated gym time into an accessible, everyday habit for everyone. Additionally, citizens and residents can track their daily movement, join community challenges, and contribute directly to the 10-billion-step goal through the official SFA application.

Moreover, the strategy combines digital tracking, strategic partnerships, and gamified challenges. This approach ensures long-term engagement through four planned phases: launch, interaction, expansion, and national celebration.

What they’re saying: Leadership emphasizes that individual choices build collective national progress.

“The ’10 Billion Steps’ initiative represents an open invitation to every individual in the Kingdom to be part of a shared national goal,” President of the SFA, Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, said. “We believe that building a healthier, more vibrant society begins with simple steps taken every day. Through this initiative, we aim to make physical activity more accessible and transform daily movement into a sustainable habit that enhances quality of life and supports the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.”

Additionally, SFA Managing Director Shaima Saleh Al-Husseini highlighted the inclusive, digital-first approach of the campaign. “The initiative shows that every beginning can be simple, and that physical activity is already part of our daily lives more than we realize,” Al-Husseini noted. “Every step we take at work, at school, at home, or elsewhere can contribute to achieving a shared national goal and help build healthier, more sustainable habits.”

Inspiring Health to Power Vision 2030

Between the lines: Increasing public participation in sports directly aligns with the Quality of Life Program under Vision 2030. Saudi Arabia actively combats sedentary lifestyle risks by embedding movement into daily activities at school, work, and home.

The SFA invites all community members, businesses, and organizations to download the SFA app, track their steps, and help reach this historic milestone together.
