Global Recognition: Qiddiya City Earns Prestigious DMAP Accreditation

Qiddiya City has achieved a global milestone, securing the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP) with Distinction, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The context: Destinations International, the world’s largest and most prominent organization supporting destination organizations, awards the DMAP Accreditation. The “With Distinction” status goes exclusively to organizations that far exceed standard accreditation, demonstrating operational excellence as well as a deep commitment to elevating their destination.

Excellence Recognition

The big picture: Qiddiya City has become the first destination management organization in the Middle East to earn DMAP Accreditation with Distinction – and only the second to achieve overall DMAP status – setting a new regional benchmark for tourism development.

Deep dive: Spanning 360 square kilometers, Qiddiya City stands as one of the world’s most prominent integrated destinations, built on the “Power of Play” philosophy. It integrates play in everyday life as a basic human instinct, hence fostering creativity, boosting wellbeing, and driving economic growth.

Developed by Qiddiya Investment Company 45 kilometers west of Riyadh, Qiddiya City will feature hotels, residential neighborhoods, in addition to a modern transport network linking it to central Riyadh. It will also host shopping and dining districts, parks and open spaces, alongside comprehensive civic infrastructure.

What they said: “This recognition affirms our commitment to operational excellence and our belief that the Power of Play philosophy has the potential to create a positive, transformative impact on the lives of individuals and communities,” Chief Marketing and Destination Officer at Qiddiya Investment Company Muhammad Bassrawi said.

“We are pleased to have Qiddiya City join our distinguished group of accredited organizations. This achievement embodies the quality and performance standards we aspire to in destination organizations,” CEO of Destinations International Don Welsh noted.
