Qiddiya City Gears Up for FIA Extreme H World Cup Return in October

Qiddiya City will host the second edition of FIA Extreme H World Cup, the world’s first hydrogen-powered motorsport race.

Taking place from October 29-31, 2026, FIA Extreme H World Cup underscores Saudi Arabia’s pursuit of excellence in motorsports and sustainable innovation, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

By hosting the event, Qiddiya City establishes itself as a major destination for international sport and entertainment through leveraging cutting-edge technology, delivering exceptional experiences, and championing the principles of sustainability.

The track reflects Qiddiya’s vision of combining sustainable technology with world-class racing to create an experience centered on excitement and leadership.

This second edition is expected to be the most thrilling and competitive yet, featuring closely matched teams utilizing the high-performance Pioneer 25 hydrogen fuel cell cars in grueling test conditions.

On this occasion, the Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, Abdullah Aldawood, said: “The return of the FIA Extreme H World Cup to Qiddiya City for the second time reflects the city’s growing reputation as a global destination for motorsport and world-class sports events.”

He added that by hosting prestigious events, “Qiddiya City continues to strengthen its role as a national and global platform for entertainment, sports, and culture, advancing the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and elevating the Kingdom’s profile on the international sports stage.”

Extreme H returns at a pivotal moment for Qiddiya City, where rapid construction is cementing its status as a world-class tourism hub.

Following the successful launch of Six Flags Qiddiya City in December 2025 and the recent opening of Aquarabia – the region’s largest water park – the city continues to expand its portfolio.

Work is also underway on the “Speed Park Track,” a state-of-the-art circuit engineered for Formula 1 and MotoGP.
