The General Authority for Food Security announced the third payment to local wheat farmers who delivered their allocated quantities for the 1445/1446 (2024) season and closed their accounts through the “Mahsuli” platform on the authority’s website.
The current installment also reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to supporting the agricultural sector. It also provides essential financial aid directly to farmers.
The net amount deposited into the farmers’ bank accounts for this installment was (426,152,965) riyals, for a net quantity received of (239,855) tons, benefiting (810) farmers. Furthermore, the total amount disbursed to farmers for this season reached (1,035,865,568) riyals, for a quantity of (595,572) tons, benefiting (2,284) farmers.
Moreover, this program significantly contributes to the agricultural sector’s resilience and economic sustainability.
The move is in tandem with the implementation of the Cabinet’s decision to approve the authority to purchase wheat from farmers for a period of (five) years not to exceed one and a half million tons per year.
