Estidamah, Saudi Coffee Company Collaborate to Elevate Saudi Arabia’s Coffee Industry

The National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah) and the Saudi Coffee Company have entered into a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance the coffee industry in the Kingdom.
This partnership supports the national initiative to boost local coffee production, aiding the economy and furthering Vision 2030. It also focuses on localizing coffee cultivation technologies, applying research, and training farmers in best practices to enhance crop quality and maximize economic returns.
The research team will concentrate on driving technological innovation, with an emphasis on using nanotechnologies and biocatalysts to boost coffee plant growth. Additionally, artificial intelligence will be employed to optimize coffee farm management, aiming to increase productivity and enhance quality.
The partnership will also explore using alternative water sources, such as rainwater harvesting, to ensure the long-term sustainability of production and create new opportunities for expanding coffee cultivation in various regions of the Kingdom.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Saghir, a board member of Estidamah, stated that this partnership represents a major leap forward for the Saudi coffee industry. Moreover, by combining Estidamah’s research expertise with the Saudi Coffee Company’s marketing strengths, the goal is to firmly establish the Kingdom as a key player on the global coffee production stage.
Dr. Abdullah Bokhari, Sustainability Director at the Saudi Coffee Company, said this collaboration is a key step in empowering local farmers and enhancing Saudi coffee’s global competitiveness. Furthermore, the partnership aims to create jobs, support rural development in coffee-growing areas, and improve local communities’ quality of life.
