SFDA Highlights Support for Researchers, Innovators at World Creativity Day Exhibition

The General Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) participated in the World Creativity and Innovation Day Exhibition, organized by King Saud University, represented by the Innovation Center of the Entrepreneurship Institute, under the slogan “We innovate today… to create the impact of tomorrow,” from April 21 to 23, 2026.
The event included the participation of several national entities supporting the research, development, and innovation ecosystem, including the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the Research, Development and Innovation Authority, and the Digital Government Authority.
The Authority’s participation reflects its commitment to making research and innovation among its strategic priorities, and its continued support for researchers and innovators by providing regulatory support within its areas of specialization.
It also adopts pathways aimed at enabling innovation and development, contributing to enhancing their understanding of regulatory and legislative frameworks locally and internationally.

Among the most prominent of these pathways is the Innovative Medical Devices track, which aims to support innovators in this field by providing regulatory and technical consultations, raising awareness of the requirements for obtaining marketing authorization certificates for innovative medical devices, and promoting compliance with them.
Another pathway is the Promising Medicines track which contributes to accelerating the availability of advanced treatments for patients, expanding available therapeutic options, and enabling early access to innovative medicines, in line with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program, one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030.
