Saudi universities have achieved remarkable success in the National Academy of Inventors’ (NAI) 2024 Top 100 Worldwide Universities list, which highlights institutions granted the most utility patents in the past year.
According to a statement from the Council of University Affairs, King Faisal University claimed the top spot globally with 631 patents. King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals secured fifth place with 265 patents, while Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University ranked 15th with 141 patents. King Saud University also made the list, placing 64th with 56 patents.
Dr. Bassam Al-Bassam, Secretary-General of the Council of University Affairs, credited this achievement to the transformative progress of Saudi universities, particularly in the fields of scientific research and innovation. He highlighted their growing role as research hubs aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, supported by the Kingdom’s leadership and the Ministry of Education.
Dr. Al-Bassam extended his congratulations to the universities and expressed confidence in their ability to sustain and build upon these accomplishments in the future.
