The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has secured the Global Humanitarian Achievement Award in the United States, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The award represented a prestigious recognition from the National Council on US-Arab relations of KSrelief’s humanitarian role in alleviating people’s sufferings around the world.
In a prestigious ceremony in Washington, the Center’s Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah has received the award from the Council’s second President and Chief Executive Officer Delano Roosevelt.
Commenting on the occasion, the Supervisor General explained that the award stands as a worldwide recognition of Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support to all vulnerable people around the world.
Through its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, the Kingdom bears the responsibility of helping poor and needy families whatever their race or nationality.
Since its launch in 2015, the Center has carried out 3,105 relief and humanitarian projects across 104 countries, worth $7.1 billion. Crucially, these projects cover essential sectors such as health, education, food security, shelter, water, as well as the environmental sanitation. Moreover, the center is greatly supporting the coordination of humanitarian operations all over the world.
Furthermore, KSrelief seeks to secure a pioneering position worldwide in the humanitarian and aid activities. To this end, the Center adopts international standards and best governance practices such as neutrality, transparency, quality, professionalism, creativity, and partnership building.
