Farhan Discusses Gaza Situation with UK Foreign Sec.
Today, the Foreign Minister of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Farhan discussed Gaza’s situation with UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron during a phone call.
Farhan and Cameron tackled several topics of shared concern on a regional and worldwide level. One of the most important topics they discussed was developments and actions taken concerning the Gaza situation.
Saudi, British FMs Previous Meeting
It is worth noting that this is not the first meeting between Farhan and Cameron since the outbreak of the Gaza War.
Last month, Farhan discussed Gaza’s situation with Cameron on the sideline of the World Economic Forum’s 2024 Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland.
Moreover, they discussed the changing regional developments and their effects on global peace and security.
Crown Prince, Cameron Previous Meeting
Last month, the Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman received Cameron in Riyadh. They also talked about the developments in the region, paying attention to Gaza situation.
Additionally, they talked about regional trends and the initiatives taken to attain security and stability.
Background about Gaza- Israel Conflict
It is worth mentioning that the regional scene is witnessing heightened tension due to the deteriorating Gaza situation.
The Gaza war commenced on October 7th. Israel launched airstrikes on Gaza Strip, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives. The Gaza death toll from Israeli attacks has reached 27,365, with 66,630 wounded, according to Hamas Health Ministry.
Moreover, Israeli forces bombed homes, infrastructure, and hospitals, as stated by Farhan in numerous interviews since the beginning of the crisis.
KSA’s Position towards Gaza-Israel Conflict
KSA condemned Israel’s aggression against Palestinians. Moreover, KSA denounces both the forced eviction of its residents and the justification for this conflict as self-defense.
Previously, Farhan has declared that Israel is transgressing the core principles of human rights. He stated that KSA will not normalize ties with Israel until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
