Al Budaiwi Addresses Gulf’s Role in Palestinian Conflict
Today, Jasem bin Mohammed Al Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, delivered a speech on the Gulf’s role in the Palestinian conflict.
The lecture was held at the Prince Saud Al-Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies in Riyadh.
During his lecture, Al Budaiwi highlighted the Gulf Cooperation Council’s efforts in seeking a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.

Dr. Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Multinational Affairs, attended the event.
Moreover, the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations attended the lecture.
In addition, some officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, researchers, and individuals interested in Palestinian’s cause also participated.
Gulf’s Stand on Israel- Gaza Conflict
From the very beginning of the Israel-Gaza conflict, the Gulf supported Palestinians, condemning Israel’s aggression against Palestinians.
Moreover, the Gulf Council declared its ongoing support in easing the suffering of Gaza Strip citizens.
The Council condemned Israel’s indiscriminate shelling in the Gaza Strip.
Moreover, it denounced the destruction of civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings and hospitals.
The Council affirmed that Israel’s actions constitute a blatant violation of international law and a clear breach of international humanitarian law.
Additionally, the Council rejected the idea of forced displacement of Gaza’s residents.
“Doha Declaration” of Supreme Council of the GCC
Gulf’s role in the Palestinian conflict was very prominent in the “Doha Declaration”.
Last year in December, leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) met and declared their endless support for Palestine.
The Council called for an end to the occupation and expressed its support for the sovereignty of the Palestinian people over all the territories occupied since 1967.
Additionally, it urged the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Furthermore, it emphasized the need to ensure the rights of refugees following the Arab Peace Initiative and international legitimacy resolutions.
In addition, the Council called for international cooperation and intensified efforts to achieve a comprehensive solution that addresses the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
