Saudi-Egyptian FMs Discuss Gaza Crisis in Joint Conference

Today, in Cairo, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, held a joint conference, to discuss Gaza crisis.

 

Farhan Announcements about Gaza Crisis.

Farhan affirmed the priority of securing a ceasefire and keeping humanitarian supplies flowing into the Gaza Strip.

He also stressed the necessity of an international resolution that unites all parties concerning the Palestinians’ situation. Moreover, he expressed KSA’s rejection of Israeli’s punishment.

Farhan said that Palestinian people should not be subjected to collective punishment as it is against international law.

He referred to the importance of the ongoing pressure from Arab nations to defend the Palestinian people.

 

Meeting between Saudi-Egyptian FMs

Before the joint conference, the two ministers met and discussed several topics.

During the meeting, Farhan reviewed all regional concerns with his Egyptian counterpart. He emphasized that 30,000 Palestinians had died in Gaza because of Israel’s violation of international law.

Thus, he underscored the necessity of a binding international resolution to halt the brutality of the Israeli occupation against Gaza.

He highlighted that they talked about policies that advance global and regional peace. Moreover, he stressed the importance of a long-term political settlement based on the two-state solution.

 

Discussing Bilateral Relations

The meeting, according to Bin Farhan, included several topics and concerns of shared interest.

Farhan stated that KSA is eager to improve bilateral ties and joint coordination with Egypt in several fields.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the meeting falls within the framework of the two nations’ desire to maintain coordination and consultation.

He also talked with Shoukry about ways to improve security and stability in the region and worldwide.

 

Previous Announcements from Farhan about Gaza Crisis

In a previous interview with CNN Farhan said that Israel is transgressing the core principles of human rights.

Additionally, he declared that until an independent Palestinian state is created, the KSA will not normalize its relations with Israel.

He clarified that Saudi Arabia is primarily focused on de-escalating the war in Gaza and ending the killings of civilians.
