Saudi Arabia Wins Global Accolades for Health Awareness Campaigns

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has secured two international honors for its 2026 health communication campaigns, bringing global recognition to initiatives focused on healthier communities and improved quality of life.

The “Healthy Cities” campaign was recognized at the GOVmedia Conference and Awards, while “Quality Years” received a gold award from the MUSE Creative Awards.

Advancing Vision 2030’s Health Goals

Together, the recognitions underscore the role of public health communication in raising awareness and encouraging healthier lifestyles.

The awards also highlight the role of health communication in advancing Saudi Vision 2030’s ambition to build a “vibrant society,” by encouraging greater health awareness and promoting lasting well-being.

Through successful campaigns that encourage awareness and healthier behaviors, the Ministry of Health is aligning its public engagement efforts with the Kingdom’s broader goals for a healthier population.

How Can Cities Improve Public Health?

Remarkably, the campaigns address two interconnected dimensions of public health: the environments that shape daily life and the behaviors that influence long-term well-being.

“Healthy Cities” spotlights Saudi Arabia’s efforts to create urban spaces that encourage healthier lifestyles, with the Kingdom leading the region with 21 healthy cities.

Meanwhile, “Quality Years” focuses on prevention and healthy habits as critical foundations in promoting longevity and quality of life.

These efforts come as life expectancy in the Kingdom has reached 79.7 years, reflecting progress in health outcomes and well-being.

What Makes Health Communication Effective?

The latest awards add to the Ministry of Health’s growing record of international recognition for its health communication initiatives.

In 2025, the ministry received two honors at the GOVmedia Conference and Awards and won the Kotler Award for its “Walk 30” initiative, named the best health and wellness campaign. It has also earned recognition at The Creative Floor Awards.

Together, these accolades bring further international attention to Saudi Arabia’s efforts to use public communication to promote health awareness and encourage lasting changes in behavior.

Recognizing Excellence in Communication

The GOVmedia Conference and Awards recognizes government initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region in communication, innovation, digital transformation, public services, and health.

By contrast, the MUSE Creative Awards celebrates creative excellence in communication, marketing, advertising, and media campaigns, providing another international platform for recognizing impactful communication.
