Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, visited Najran University yesterday to discuss the national strategy of industry and mining with the students, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The university’s President, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Khudairi, warmly welcomed the minister and commended his visit as part of the ministry’s collaboration with the university to establish training programs for the private sector.
During his meeting with the students, Al-Khorayef discussed the growth of Saudi industry and mining sector in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and its promising objectives to diversify the Kingdom’s economy.
The minister also delved into the ministry’s training programs and its serious efforts to develop human cadres in order to achieve the goals of the human capabilities’ development strategy.
Furthermore, Al-Khorayef emphasized that the Kingdom’s mineral wealth has increased by 90%, reaching approximately SAR9 trillion.
He also stressed that Najran region is the best example of a promising region with abundant mineral resources, including gold, silver, and granite.
