Diriyah’s ambition to establish itself as one of the world’s pioneering cultural and lifestyle destinations has reached a new milestone with the awarding of a SAR2.7 billion contract for the construction of the Waldorf Astoria superblock.
What Awaits Guests at Waldorf Astoria Diriyah?
Delivered through a joint venture between Hassan Allam Construction Saudi Limited and Urbacon Saudi Company S.P.C., a subsidiary of UCC Holding, the project marks a decisive step in accelerating Diriyah’s vision of becoming a globally recognized luxury destination.
Enhancing Diriyah’s appeal as a premier luxury destination, the Waldorf Astoria Diriyah will feature 160 rooms, 39 suites, and a presidential suite, complemented by refined restaurants and cafés, a grand ballroom, meeting facilities, a world‑class spa, and a state‑of‑the‑art fitness center.
Together, these facilities will create a 22,715-square-meter destination that seamlessly blends luxury accommodation with premium lifestyle and business amenities, making it an immersive hub for both leisure and business travelers.
Building a Complete Lifestyle Destination
Designed to foster an integrated lifestyle ecosystem, the superblock will thoughtfully unite luxury residences with commercial and retail offerings. Anchoring the development are 47 branded Waldorf Astoria Residences spanning 10,090 square meters, complemented by over 45,000 square meters of mixed-use office space. Added to this are 60,263 square meters of residential developments and 8,555 square meters dedicated to retail and dining destinations.
Culminating the vision for the superblock is an extensive infrastructure network designed to balance functionality with livability. A 70,290-square-meter central basement will support the office and residential components, while retail outlets, public spaces, and landscaped surroundings will create a welcoming, walkable environment that encourages residents and visitors alike to experience Diriyah on foot.
Turning Vision into Reality
Labelling the development as a bold stride in Diriyah’s evolution, Diriyah Company Group CEO Jerry Inzerillo affirmed the Waldorf Astoria superblock reflects the sustained momentum of the destination’s ambitious development program.
He also underscored that welcoming another globally recognized luxury hospitality brand not only fuels Diriyah’s vision of creating a dynamic mixed-use district but also reinforces its position among the world’s leading tourism and lifestyle destinations.
What Will Diriyah Look Like Tomorrow?
As the Waldorf Astoria superblock rises, it injects fresh momentum into a rapidly evolving destination that is redefining the future of urban living and tourism in Saudi Arabia.
Upon completion, Diriyah will generate SAR70 billion in economic value, create approximately 180,000 job opportunities, welcome 50 million visitors annually, and provide homes for nearly 100,000 residents.
Complemented by cultural landmarks such as museums and institutions, luxury hotels, entertainment venues, world-class sporting facilities, as well as business districts, the project embodies a holistic vision where a single destination unites heritage, innovation, commerce, and community under one roof.
