Why Is London’s Selfridges Betting on Saudi Homegrown Brands?

Saudi Arabia’s homegrown brands are making remarkable strides beyond local markets, opening a new chapter as they step onto some of the world’s most prominent commercial stages.

This momentum forms part of the Kingdom’s broader drive to transform local creativity and entrepreneurship into globally recognized success stories.

What Awaits Saudi Brands at Selfridges?

In this context, more than 25 Saudi brands have taken center stage at Selfridges in London through a new initiative designed to introduce homegrown companies to international markets and support their presence in global platforms.

The showcase offers a vital platform for Saudi products to engage with one of the world’s most diverse retail audiences, offering clear proof of the growing competitiveness of the Kingdom’s consumer brands on the international scene.

Launched by Milaf Global, a Public Investment Fund company, in collaboration with the renowned department store, the six-week “Saudi: Sky’s The Limit” initiative transforms Selfridges’ flagship Oxford Street location into a vibrant showcase of Saudi innovation and craftsmanship.

What Makes These Saudi Brands Stand Out?

Running from July 27 to September 5, the initiative showcases a vast array of products from Saudi entrepreneurs alongside offerings from Milaf Global’s portfolio.

Featuring food, fashion, beauty, fragrance, jewelry and lifestyle, the curated selection introduces international shoppers to the diversity and richness of the Kingdom’s homegrown brands.

The participating brands were selected by a joint team from Milaf Global and Selfridges following a careful selection process that assessed product quality, brand distinctiveness, international market readiness and each brand’s ability to vividly reflect Saudi identity.

At the heart of this thoughtful approach lies a guiding principle: the showcase should present a compelling expression of Saudi Arabia’s creativity, innovation and craftsmanship to a global audience.

Building Global Pathways for Saudi Brands

For Milaf Global, the initiative represents far more than a retail collaboration; it serves as a strategic step toward helping Saudi companies establish a lasting international presence.

Reflecting this vision, Milaf Global CEO Bandar Al-Qahtani underscored the company’s commitment to diversifying opportunities for private-sector partners and Saudi entrepreneurs to access global markets and boost their international competitiveness.

He further expressed hope that the initiative will lay the foundations for future international collaborations, opening new avenues for Saudi products to reach worldwide markets.

From Selfridges’ perspective, the partnership provides shoppers with an exceptional opportunity to explore a new generation of Saudi brands celebrated for their creativity, quality and innovation.

From Local Success to Global Competitiveness

As an increasing number of homegrown companies turn their attention toward international markets, the “Saudi: Sky’s The Limit” initiative aligns with the ambitions of Saudi Arabia’s economic transformation plans.

Reinforcing this momentum, the Public Investment Fund continues to stimulate sustained investments in sectors closely tied to Saudi culture, consumer products and local manufacturing, supporting the Kingdom’s long-term economic diversification agenda under the Saudi Vision 2030.
