Saudi Arabia’s Naval Forces are currently participating in the joint naval-air exercise “Medusa 13” in Greece, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The exercise aims to strengthen naval security through fostering alliances and joint security cooperation.
The exercise Commander, Colonel Naval Commander Fahd Al-Humaidi Al-Otaibi, explained that the exercise provides a valuable opportunity to manage and implement joint combat missions using modern weapons.

The forces will learn how to coordinate between units in order to confront non-traditional maritime threats.
Moreover, they will exchange expertise and insights over how to secure the theatre of operations against potential threats.
Al-Otaibi noted that the Naval Forces‘ participation includes various units, as follows:
- The Special Naval Security Units
- Marine Infantry
- His Majesty’s Ships
- Naval Aviation

The exercise is set to take place on the Greek island of Crete and in operational areas in the Mediterranean Sea.
It highlights the participation of other forces from Greece, Egypt, France, and Cyprus.
The drill will offer several military operations, information operations, an amphibious assault, and civilian evacuation.
