Saudi Arabia Wins Awards at WSIS +20 Forum

Saudi Arabia won the awards of the World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS +20), organized by the International Telecommunication Union, and held in Geneva, Switzerland.

This was recognition of the excellence of its innovative projects after competing with projects from more than 193 countries.

The Kingdom won an award for its National Data Bank project and Foresight Platform, recognized by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). Moreover, these initiatives aim to enhance communication technology and data quality, fostering a data-based digital economy.

The Kingdom also received three certificates of distinction for two projects by SDAIA. The first project aims to develop ethical considerations and ensure their implementation in AI systems. The second project, Elevate, empowers and trains women in data and AI fields. The third is SmartTruck project presented by the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) in cooperation with Huawei. It aims to bridge the digital gap among the elderly by providing training programs for digital skills.

The Kingdom’s awards reflect its advanced communications and technology infrastructure, empowered national capabilities, and alignment with global developments in government services, healthcare, education, and entertainment, supported by wise leadership.
