Saudi Arabia Wins Global Quality Standards Award for Sustainable Development
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has secured the Global Quality Standards Award for Sustainable Development for the “Your Agricultural Guide” app for 2024, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Awarded by the World Federation of Friends of the United Nations, the app was recognized as the best governmental initiative in the agricultural sector for 2024.
The award was part of the ministry’s participation in the Sustainable Development Goals to Empower the Future in the Middle East ceremony themed “Advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for a Prosperous Region.”
This worldwide recognition stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fully achieve the sustainable development goals in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The Kingdom has embarked on a serious journey during the recent years to harness all the Saudi capabilities and potentials to achieve sustainable development in all sectors.
“Your Agricultural Guide” app targets farmers, livestock breeders, fishermen and beekeepers throughout the Kingdom by providing immediate advice and direct contact with experts and specialists in all agricultural fields.
Thankfully, the number of experts has surpassed 400 guides across the Kingdom, as the farmers’ need for agricultural guidance services from the application reaches 80%.
The latest statistics shows that the number of farmers who registered in the application reached 270,286 and the listed guides reached 426 guides.
Furthermore, the app recorded 4,288,474 consultations and the total number of text guidance messages reached about 1,653,247 messages.
