Saudi Quality of Life Program is participating in the High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development 2024. This forum is held by the United Nations in New York City from July 8 to 18, 2024.
The program aims to showcase the Kingdom’s progress in achieving sustainable development goals. It focuses on sustainable city projects and efforts to improve quality of life.
Moreover, the Quality of Life Program organizes activities accompanying the summit, including discussion sessions and various workshops, highlighting the contributions of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to achieving the goals of sustainable development.
In this regard, the CEO of the Quality of Life Program, Khalid Abdullah Al-Bakr, said: “Through this participation, we seek to exchange experiences and visions with the international community, and to highlight the extent of the efforts made by the Kingdom in improving the quality of life for its citizens and residents.”
“We also aspire to build serious partnerships that contribute to achieving Common goals adopted by all member states of the United Nations.”
The United Nations has adopted 17 global sustainable development goals. Additionally, these include eliminating poverty and hunger, promoting public health, well-being, and gender equality, developing industry and innovation, promoting clean energy use, and building sustainable cities and communities.
The Quality of Life Program contributes through its 128 initiative goals, health, equality, economic growth and clean energy use.
High-Level Political Forum
The Kingdom’s delegation to the 2024 United Nations High-Level Political Forum is led by Mr. Faisal Al-Ibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning, and includes representatives from 13 government entities. These include ministries such as Economy and Planning, Energy, Foreign Affairs, Water and Agriculture, and Human and Social Development.
It is noteworthy that the High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development has been held every year since 2015 under the supervision of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Moreover, the Kingdom has participated in the work of the forum continuously since 2017.
Furthermore, the forum is a major platform for international discussions and brings together leaders from around the world to review the progress made in achieving the sustainable development goals.
