Saudi Pro League heavyweights Al Hilal and Al Ittihad are reportedly in a race to sign Roma’s forward Paulo Dybala during the current transfer window.
The 30-year-old Argentina international has been in remarkable form with Roma. Last season, he scored 34 goals and provided 18 assists in 77 games across all competitions.
Lucrative Offers on the Table
Dybala’s exceptional performance has attracted interest from Saudi Arabian clubs. According to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, both Al Hilal and Al Ittihad have submitted bids to sign the former Juventus attacker.
The report claims that the Saudi Pro League clubs have offered Dybala a contract worth over 15 million euros per season. With bonuses, this amount could reach 20 million euros.
Roma’s Stance
Roma insist that any Saudi club interested in Paulo Dybala must trigger his 12 million euro release clause. The club are unwilling to part with Dybala, as coach Daniele De Rossi considers him a key figure. Dybala is expected to play a crucial role in Roma’s upcoming Serie A and UEFA Europa League campaigns.
Saudi Pro League champions Al Hilal have been linked with several high-profile players this summer. However, the Riyadh giants have not completed a single new deal so far. Despite this, they plan to bolster their squad with new signings.
In contrast, Al Ittihad has been very active in the market. They have signed several new players, including Moussa Diaby from Aston Villa, Roma’s Houssem Aouar, and Predrag Rajkovic from Mallorca. They have also acquired Al Hilal striker Saleh Al-Shehri. These signings come as they prepare for the new season, which kicks off on August 22.
