Riyadh Air, Egypt Airlines Sign Strategic Cooperation Memorandum

Riyadh Air has signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with EgyptAir, Egypt’s national carrier based in Cairo. The agreement was announced during the International Air Transport Association’s annual general assembly in Dubai.

Under this agreement, both sides offer exclusive benefits to guests and travelers on routes between the Kingdom and Egypt, as well as to other major destinations from Egypt. This memorandum signifies strategic cooperation between airlines to strengthen relations between the Kingdom and Egypt, enhancing market ties.

It aims to expand travel choices for customers of both carriers. It will collaborate to offer diverse travel options between Cairo and Riyadh. Additionally,  it will connect various local and regional destinations across the Middle East and Africa.

Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, stated, “We are proud to sign this strategic partnership with EgyptAir, marking a crucial milestone in our journey towards launching our first commercial flights in mid-2025. This partnership will offer our passengers a variety of benefits, given EgyptAir’s proximity to the Kingdom. We foresee promising prospects for air traffic between Riyadh and Cairo, necessitating close collaboration to meet the expected high demand.”

He added that through this strategic cooperation, they will provide more travel options between Riyadh and Cairo, along with other destinations. This will include loyalty programs and other benefits for travelers and guests.

The Chairman of EgyptAir’s Board of Directors confirmed that the strategic cooperation with Riyadh Air aims to target new markets and meet customer needs. This partnership will enhance cooperation with EgyptAir’s partners and provide a distinctive travel experience for customers of both companies.
