As part of the Qatif Calendar activities, the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) launched “Qatif Cinema” yesterday, offering a first-of-its-kind cinematic experience on the Corniche at the Wahatna Farhana venue, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
By thoughtfully blending film screenings with a seaside setting, the experience provided audiences with an immersive viewing atmosphere by the sea.
Set to run for 18 consecutive days through June 14, Qatif Cinema will operate daily from 5:00 PM until 1:00 AM.
The event schedule features three screenings per day, with programming regularly updated to reflect diverse cinematic genres and to suit different age groups in accordance with film classification.
Qatif Cinema invites visitors to the Corniche to enjoy open-air film screenings by the sea, boasting a dedicated cinema screen and comfortable seating arrangements.
To create a fully integrated entertainment destination for cinema enthusiasts and visitors, the experience is further complemented by on-site food and beverage offerings.
Interestingly, the current lineup features a wide range of selection of films, with programming scheduled to rotate periodically to offer visitors a refreshed array of viewing options throughout the event.
Meanwhile, the Qatif Calendar presents a wide-ranging program of activities that brings together sports, heritage, entertainment, and adventure experiences.
Visitors can book Qatif Cinema via the Webook platform, with screening times varying in line with the daily film schedule.
The Qatif Corniche stands out as a dynamic venue for cycling races, marathon events, and fishing competitions, all set against a coastal backdrop that mirrors the city’s maritime identity.
