The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has officially launched the second annual Riyadh Film Music Festival, capturing the attention of musicians, directors and filmmakers within the Kingdom and across the world, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Set to run until August 9 at the Red Hall in Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, the festival seeks to deepen public understanding and appreciation of the role of music in film.

Therefore, the event will screen four international films: Top Gun: Maverick, Pirates of the Caribbean, Back to the Future, and The Lion King.
Moreover, it will feature live musical performances during film screenings, providing audiences with an exceptional atmosphere that highlights and reintroduces the powerful role of music in cinematic storytelling.

Interestingly, the opening night showcased a live orchestral performance that extraordinarily blended visuals and sound, with musical pieces from some of the world’s most renowned films.
The festival also boasted live orchestral performances of works by renowned composers, such as “He’s a Pirate” from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Alan Silvestri’s music from Back to the Future, as well as Hans Zimmer’s iconic work from The Lion King.

This year, the Riyadh Film Music Festival coincides with the city’s hosting of the Esports World Cup, mirroring the RCRC’s ongoing efforts to foster cultural and artistic activity as well as promote diverse art forms in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
