Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has just issued its August report on the performance of domestic and international airports, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The performance is based on 11 key criteria including, check-in, security, passport control, customs, baggage claim, and assistance for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM).
Five airports have secured the advanced positions in the report, as follows:
- King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh
- Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah
- Abha International Airport
- Al-Ahsa International Airport
- Gurayat Airport
Annual Passenger Numbers Criterion
1-More than 15 million annual passengers category
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh secured the top place with an 82% compliance rate.
King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah won the second spot with an 82% compliance rate.
2- The 5 to 15 million annual passengers category
Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport secured the first place with a 91% compliance rate.
King Fahad International Airport followed with an 82% compliance rate.
3-The 2 to 5 million annual passengers category
Abha International Airport and King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport in Jizan achieved a 100% compliance rate.
4- Less than 2 million annual passengers category
Al-Ahsa International Airport accomplished a 100% compliance rate, surpassing its competitors concerning average waiting time for departing and arriving flights.
Domestic Airport Category
Gurayat Airport topped the list of the domestic airport category, with a 100% compliance rate.
