Pouille: Most French Companies Relocate Headquarters to Riyadh

The French Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ludovic Pouille told ‘Al-Eqtisadiah’ that most French companies have relocated their regional headquarters to Riyadh.

Relocating the headquarters to Riyadh followed the facilitations provided to compete in tenders and contracts for government entities.

Pouille pointed out that 175 French companies are operating in Saudi Arabia, employing more than 13,300 Saudis.

Diversified Fields of Production

Moreover, Pouille affirmed that Saudi Arabia is not just a country specialized in oil and gas production. By virtue of its expertise in this field, it has leveled up its energy production to include types of renewable energy, such as hydrogen.

This comes after the launch of the “Once in a Lifetime Opportunity” campaign in Riyadh. A group of Saudi businessmen, foreign investors, and directors of French companies in various sectors participated in the event on Sunday evening in Riyadh.

Meanwhile, the ambassador confirmed that the incentives provided by official bodies, represented by the Ministry of Investment, have made Saudi Arabia the focus of many companies and foreign investors. Therefore, this created a strong competition in the Saudi market.

He explained that this direction comes within the framework, dimensions, and concepts of economic goals. This campaign represents an opportunity to remind of France’s attractiveness in all fields, from tourism to culture and economy.

Robust Saudi-French Relations

The ambassador emphasized that Saudi Arabia is a strategic partner for France, and is a fertile ground for economic and vital projects in all sectors with economic returns.

“Our strategic partnership has seen significant development over the past three years. We are always striving to enhance it further. Our countries agree on a vision through France’s 2030 plan and Saudi Vision 2030, to achieve our shared goals,” said the ambassador.

The French ambassador reported that the partnership between the two countries is of great importance, as French companies in Saudi Arabia are the third-largest foreign investors in local sectors, such as renewable energy, transport, healthcare, and more.
