The Aseer branch of the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has officially launched an ambitious environmental initiative to plant one million seedlings in Almadra Forest. The forest is in Mahayel Aseer, about 80 kilometers northwest of Abha.
This large-scale planting effort, part of the Saudi Green Initiative, aims to foster community involvement by engaging local volunteer teams. The project’s key objectives include reducing carbon emissions, restoring native plant biodiversity, mitigating the effects of climate change, and enhancing ecotourism opportunities across the region.
