
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), represented by Majed Almalik, Vice President of Shared Services and Digital Transformation, participated in the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Sub-Committee on Carriage of Cargoes and Containers (CCC) meetings in London.
During the sessions, Mawani presented a paper on smart ports and logistics transformation, showcasing its digital strategy aimed at boosting efficiency and operational performance across Saudi ports.

Key initiatives featured in the presentation included the integration of 5G technologies for real-time operations, the implementation of a maritime single window to simplify regulatory procedures, and the development of the Port Community System (PCS).
The CCC Sub-Committee serves as a technical body within the IMO, responsible for setting regulations that ensure the safe transport of diverse cargo types, including dangerous goods, solid bulk materials, and containerized freight.
