Mawani Adds “MXS1” Shipping Service of “Silmar Group” Company to Jeddah Port

The General Authority for Ports, “Mawani,” has announced the addition of the new shipping service “MXS1” by “Silmar Group” to Jeddah Islamic Port. This move aims to enhance the flow of exports and imports to and from the port, in line with a vision supported by reliable and efficient operations, as well as a safe and sustainable environment.

This initiative aligns with Mawani’s efforts to improve the Kingdom’s ranking in the maritime navigation network connectivity index, boost the operational efficiency of ports, and strengthen the Kingdom’s connection with global markets. It supports national exports and imports in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to establish the Kingdom as a global logistics hub and a link between three continents.

The new shipping service connects Jeddah Islamic Port with ports including Mundra in India, Karachi in Pakistan, Mersin and Yarimca in Turkey, and Jebel Ali in the UAE, with a capacity of 2,076 TEUs.

It is worth noting that partnerships forged by Mawani with global shipping lines contribute to the development of the Kingdom’s ports, enhance their competitiveness, and promote infrastructure growth. These partnerships also work to expand maritime transport lines and improve procedures related to operational and logistical services.
