
Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), has been elected to the Technical Management Board of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for the 2026–2028 term. This appointment highlights the Kingdom’s growing influence and active participation on the global stage.

Securing this seat marks a strategic milestone for Saudi Arabia, strengthening its role in guiding ISO’s technical direction. The position is expected to enhance the Kingdom’s national quality infrastructure while fostering growth and competitiveness across key economic sectors.
SASO emphasized that this recognition reflects the Kingdom’s increasing global prominence and its impactful contributions to international trade, product safety, and consumer protection.

Founded in 1947, ISO serves as the world’s leading association of national standardization bodies, with more than 160 member countries. Saudi Arabia, through SASO, has been an active member since 1972.
