ISESCO, Saudi Ministry of Environment Enhance Cooperation
Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik discussed with Saudi Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdul rahman Al-Fadhli ways and mechanisms to enhance cooperation between ISESCO and the ministry in areas of common interest.
A statement by ISESCO said today that Al-Malik stressed the organization’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the ministry, noting the distinguished partnership between the two sides in organizing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Award for Environmental Management in the Islamic World.
On his part, Al-Fadhli indicated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keenness to develop cooperation with ISESCO and with the countries of the Islamic world to confront the challenges and negative effects of climate change in the areas of water and food security. He stressed the Ministry’s readiness to exchange successful Saudi expertise and experiences in water desalination and various environmental initiatives.
The statement added that the meeting touched on the importance of joint work in the field of environmental protection, through innovative practical initiatives whose impact can be measured and developed to achieve success, according to the needs and priorities of each country.
It was also agreed to continue coordination between ISESCO and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Saudi Arabia to enhance joint cooperation in a number of programs and projects that are agreed upon.
