The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has designated special prayer rooms for women within the Grand Mosque, according to Gulf News.
The authorities equipped dedicated spaces with a vast array of services to provide female pilgrims with spiritual solace and practical support during Ramadan.
Designed basically to ensure comfort, dignity and accessibility for women, the step seeks to facilitate women’s movement in one of the busiest seasons in Islam’s holiest site.
Therefore, the rooms provide women with a smooth access to integrated services, such as on-site healthcare support through the emergency medical teams stationed nearby.
At these rooms, pilgrims can enjoy the lost and found service that allows for quick retrieval of personal items.
In addition, volunteers offer Quran memorization and recitation correction sessions to enhance spiritual solace.
As part of hospitality initiatives, the authority is currently offering translated copies of the Quran for non-Arabic speakers, as well as daily iftar meals to fasting women.
Meanwhile, the officials carried out logistical measures to streamline movement through the mosque’s corridors. To this end, they dedicated entry and exit routes to prevent congestion.
Furthermore, pilgrims can get guidance and religious counseling regarding rituals through trained staff.
Interestingly, the authorities allocated special prayer spaces for women with disabilities, with wheelchair-accessible paths and appropriate infrastructure.
