Saudi Arabia is continuing its humanitarian outreach to communities affected by crisis in Gaza, Yemen and Sudan through a series of relief and medical programmes run by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief). The initiatives form part of the Kingdom’s broader effort to reach the most vulnerable people in emergency settings by delivering food aid, healthcare services and capacity-building support for local responders.
Sudan: orthopaedic surgeries, training, food aid
In Sudan, KSrelief wrapped up two voluntary medical missions dedicated to orthopaedic surgeries for adults and children, alongside two training projects designed to strengthen the skills of local medical staff. The centre also ran two health-awareness and education campaigns for patients and their families in Port Sudan between 29 August and 4 September 2026, deploying 29 volunteers in partnership with the Inayah Health Association.

During the two surgical projects, medical teams carried out 48 successful orthopaedic operations on adults and 44 on children, examined 1,365 patients, and delivered training and awareness sessions that benefited 241 people. The missions also transferred expertise to 39 local medical personnel.
Separately, KSrelief distributed 1,026 food baskets to displaced and returning families at the Sheikan centre in North Kordofan state, reaching 6,985 beneficiaries under the 2026 Food Security Support Project.
Gaza: 25,000 hot meals via central kitchen
In the Gaza Strip, the centre maintained its relief operations through its central kitchen, distributing 25,000 hot meals to the most vulnerable households in central and southern Gaza as part of the Saudi Popular Campaign to Aid the Palestinian People.

Yemen: emergency food baskets and dates
In Yemen, KSrelief handed out 50 food baskets to displaced and crisis-affected families in the Hays district of Al Hudaydah governorate under the second phase of the 2026 Emergency Food Security Interventions Project.
The centre also distributed 1,000 cartons of dates in the Mocha district of Taiz governorate, benefiting around 6,000 people under the 2026 Dates Distribution Project, in a bid to support the neediest families hit by the humanitarian situation.

These latest operations build on Saudi Arabia’s sustained humanitarian and relief work through KSrelief, aimed at bolstering food and health sectors, reinforcing the resilience of affected communities and alleviating the hardship faced by the most vulnerable in crisis zones.
