Apple to Add Artificial Intelligence to Siri
Apple seeks to add artificial intelligence features to Apple’s voice assistant “Siri” in its smartphones, and to keep pace with Samsung, which has adopted this technology in its devices, reported Akhbaar24.
Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that artificial intelligence features will soon be available in the next version of the iOS operating system. The company focuses on using artificial intelligence to improve its current applications and preserve users’ privacy.
Apple’s voice assistant Siri is at the forefront and it is possible that it will have the ability to analyze and summarize texts within the Messages application. This ability is reminiscent of the similar Intelligent Search feature of the Safari browser, which allows users to summarize web pages.
The Ajax language model also uses cross-device AI processing to generate simple responses and may connect to the server for complex requests. The company is expected to focus on privacy in AI features, and Apple’s global developers will hold an event on June 10 to reveal the AI roadmap.
Apple announced it will hold an event on May 7, according to Reuters. Reports suggest this event may unveil revamped versions of the iPad Pro and iPad Air. The Cupertino-based company didn’t provide specifics about the event, set to begin at 7 a.m. PT (2 p.m. GMT).
Bloomberg News reported last month that Apple suppliers were ramping up production of new iPads, with a launch planned for early May. The release will feature revamped versions of the iPad Pro and Air, according to people familiar with the matter.
The Pro models will get sharper new OLED displays – short for organic light-emitting diode – and the updated iPad Air will feature a 12.9in screen option for the first time, they said.
