Al-Mashaer Al-Mugaddasah Metro Line has started its first journey today to facilitate transportation of pilgrims through 9 stations between the holy sites in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
This launch came after the Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) concluded an extensive 90-day trial operation phase on Monday.
SAR announced that 17 trains are ready to serve the guests of Allah after conducting all comprehensive maintenance efforts across the entire metro system.
Furthermore, SAR unveiled various contacts with over 7,500 seasonal employees who are fluent in English, Turkish, Indonesian, Nigerian languages, and more.
These multilingual staff members will ensure easy and effective communication and provide extraordinary services for all pilgrims during this year’s Hajj.
Furthermore, the Saudi Transport General Authority has unveiled the automated monitoring vehicle to be used for the first time during Hajj 2024.
The authority has launched the new vehicle to monitor all transportation vehicles in Mecca, Madinah, and other holy sites and make sure of their compliance with Saudi high standards and quality.
The automated vehicle basically uses mobile surveillance cameras to provide accurate identification for the type and data of various vehicles such as buses, taxis, and trucks.
Developed through integrated national efforts, the new technology will maintain pilgrims’ security and safety in all transportation means during this Hajj season.
