Saudi Arabia Launches Electronic Travel Authorization for UK Passport Holders

Saudi Arabia has introduced the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) service for UK citizens, extending reciprocal travel arrangements between the Kingdom and Britain, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the new service further reinforcing Saudi-UK relations and streamlining travel procedures for visitors to the Kingdom.

Under the ETA scheme, British citizens can travel to Saudi Arabia through a multiple-entry electronic authorization, allowing them to stay in the Kingdom for up to 180 days, whether during a single extended stay or through several trips.

Crucially, the authorization covers a wide range of travel purposes, including tourism, business, and short-term study. However, it is not valid for work, residence, or Hajj travel, which require the relevant visas to be obtained separately.

Taking effect on July 1, 2026, the service will be accessible to all UK passport holders, unleashing new horizons for cooperation and boosting the longstanding relationship between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
