In a remarkable diplomatic milestone, Saudi Arabia and Portugal have signed an agreement waiving visa requirements for diplomatic and special passport holders, according to Gulf News.
The agreement seeks to deepen bilateral ties and ease official travel procedures between the two countries.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Portugal’s Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Paulo Rangel signed the agreement in Lisbon.
The deal aims to ease travel and communication for holders of eligible passports and to strengthen coordination and broaden bilateral cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Portugal across a vast array of shared interests.
Authorities did not provide further details about the timeline for the agreement’s entry into force.
The signing took place during Prince Faisal’s official visit to Portugal, where the two ministers also held significant talks on regional and international developments.
