The Saudi Cabinet on Tuesday, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, hailed the peace deal reached between Washington and Tehran to cease military operations and begin talks on a permanent settlement, according to Al-Arabiya English.
The Cabinet also commended Pakistan and Qatar’s mediation initiatives, recognizing their pivotal role in advancing the agreement.
At the same time, the ministers stressed the need to restore normal shipping operations in the Strait of Hormuz, returning to the pre-conflict conditions.
The Cabinet also voiced hope that the peace process would lead to a lasting settlement that enhances both regional and international security, while respecting the security interests, sovereignty and internal affairs of regional nations.
Furthermore, the Cabinet welcomed the findings of International Monetary Fund experts following the 2026 Article IV consultations with Saudi Arabia, which spotlighted the resilience of the Saudi economy in the face of regional developments. The findings said that this resilience is driven by strong macroeconomic fundamentals, substantial foreign reserves, diversified infrastructure, as well as ongoing reforms under Saudi Vision 2030.
Apart from this, the meeting welcomed the selection of Riyadh as the headquarters of the first cybersecurity office at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). The ministers said that this step stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s leadership in the field of cybersecurity and its efforts to develop a secure and stable cyberspace that supports economic and social growth.
