Prince Faisal Discusses Gaza Situation with Portugal’s Counterpart

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah had a phone call today with Portugal’s Foreign Minister, João Gomes Cravinho and discussed the situation in Gaza.

During the call, Prince Faisal appreciated Portugal’s support for the recent United Nations resolution. The resolution, dated October 27, 2023, calls for an immediate ceasefire and an urgent humanitarian truce in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Discussing De-escalation Efforts

The ministers discussed ways to support efforts to halt military escalations in and around Gaza. They further discussed prevention of the forced displacement of people in Gaza and efforts to deliver humanitarian aid and medical relief to avoid exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis.

Previous Gaza Discussion Between Leaders

During a call with the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, HRH Mohammed bin Salman Saudi’s Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia emphasized the importance of reinforcing international and regional efforts to halt military operations in Gaza, stressing the need for De-Escalation in Gaza.

Receiving a phone call from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday, the Crown Prince emphasized the necessity to exert all possible efforts to reduce tensions.

The Crown Prince stressed the importance of preventing further violence to avoid serious implications on regional and global peace and security.

He also received phone calls from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and French President Emmanuel Macron, discussing the escalating situation.
