Saudi Arabia Takes Part in EU–MENA Security Conference in Lisbon

Saudi Arabia has participated in the EU–MENA Ministerial Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, to boost security cooperation, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

On behalf of Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud, the Saudi delegation was led by Assistant Interior Minister Hisham Al-Faleh.

Inaugurated by Portuguese Home Affairs Minister Maria Lucia Amaral, the conference seeks to foster a regional political dialogue and bolster security cooperation among participating countries.

Al-Faleh noted that the Kingdom is eager to exchange ideas and future visions to combat organized crime, develop law-enforcement agencies and share expertise.

He also underscored the significance of enhancing EU–MENA regional cooperation.

Al-Faleh stressed that crime in all forms poses major challenges, noting that strategic partnerships and international cooperation are key pillars to address these issues.

The conference witnessed the presence of ministers from several Arab and European countries and representatives of international organizations. The event also served as a unique platform to review joint security issues, showcase new security models, and develop mechanisms for coordination and information exchange to address regional and international challenges.
