Umm Al-Qura University Receives International Certification for Tourism, Hospitality
Umm Al-Qura University, represented by its College of Business Administration and Economics, has obtained a comprehensive quality certification. This certification applies to its tourism and hospitality programs. The recognition was awarded by the European Association for Tourism and Hospitality Education (EURHODIP).
This recognition is the result of efforts by the Tourism and Hospitality Department and its programs to meet all quality and competitiveness standards at both local and global levels.
Education Evaluation Authority
Dr. Mohammed Al-Zahrani, Vice President for Academic Affairs, explained that the university is working to accredit all its academic programs following clear plans and standards set by the Education Evaluation Authority and international organizations specializing in specific programs, to achieve its strategic objectives in offering distinguished academic programs aligned with labor market needs.
This process ensured that the university met all standards required for certification, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence. Each step was meticulously documented, and feedback from all stakeholders was incorporated to align with best practices in higher education. Ultimately, the certification highlights the university’s dedication to maintaining high-quality programs that support student success and institutional growth.
Eurhoqual Certification
The Eurhoqual certification, launched in 1988, is a tool for measuring educational quality in tourism and hospitality programs within EURHODIP. It aims to assess and enhance the quality of tourism and hospitality education in academies, colleges, and institutions providing this specialization.
