Saudi Arabia, Malaysia Forge New Path for Audit Excellence

Saudi Arabia and Malaysia are opening a new avenue for cooperation in auditing, with their respective supreme audit institutions partnering to advance professional practice.

Signed in Putrajaya by General Court of Audit (GCA) President Dr. Hussam Alangari and National Audit Department of Malaysia Auditor General Wan Suraya Radzi, the agreement focuses on reinforcing accounting, auditing, and professional cooperation.

The move reflects the GCA’s broader strategy to strengthen relationships with peer supreme audit institutions, boosting the exchange of professional expertise while unlocking new potentials for specialized joint programs.

This broader vision is vividly reflected in the practical initiatives outlined under the memorandum of understanding.

According to the partnership, the two institutions will exchange professional expertise, develop guides for financial and performance auditing, and strengthen operational capacity through joint workshops and specialized training, supported by their memberships in INTOSAI and ASOSAI.

For GCA President Dr. Hussam Alangari, the agreement stands as a testament to the GCA’s continued commitment to expanding strategic partnerships with peer supreme audit institutions.

He also underscored the GCA’s pivotal role in sharing professional expertise across regional and international organizations.

On the Malaysian side, Radzi emphasized the memorandum’s significance in deepening cooperation between the two institutions.

She also pointed to stronger performance efficiency, greater knowledge sharing, and higher audit quality as key outcomes of the partnership.

Ultimately, the signing led to a bilateral meeting that brought both sides together with institutional experts to delve into joint initiatives and develop aligned approaches to matters of mutual interest.
