
The Global Forum for Roses and Aromatic Plants, held in Taif Governorate, continues to enhance Saudi Arabia’s standing as a key player in the international aromatics market. The event has brought together around 400 participants representing 44 countries.

The forum attracted 1,990 visitors, signaling rising interest in investment opportunities within the rose and aromatic plants sector. Notable participation came from East Asia and Africa, with the Philippines leading at 84 participants, followed by Indonesia (32), Benin (28), and Thailand (22). Arab nations also had a strong presence, including Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, and Egypt.

Workshops held during the forum engaged nearly 1,000 attendees and featured 20 experts and speakers from Saudi Arabia, China, and Egypt. These sessions also focused on the latest developments in plant breeding using tissue culture, along with advanced extraction methods aimed at improving essential oil quality and minimizing production losses.

The forum underscores efforts to strengthen the value chain of Taif roses and aromatic plants by supporting farmers, implementing modern agricultural practices, and enhancing product quality. Finally, these initiatives aim to increase global competitiveness and contribute to the diversification of Saudi Arabia’s non-oil economy.
