SDAIA Releases Guidelines,Tool for Assessing Cross-Border Data Transfer Risks

The Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA) has unveiled a set of guidelines designed to outline the critical stages and detailed procedures for assessing the risks involved in transferring personal data outside the Kingdom. The document highlights key concepts and focuses on essential measures to evaluate potential adverse effects and risks that may result from the processing of personal data.
In addition to the guidelines, SDAIA has developed a dedicated tool to assist in assessing the risks of transferring personal data internationally. This tool is accessible to users registered on the National Data Governance Platform, further supporting the authority’s national initiatives to ensure compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law.
This initiative underscores SDAIA’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of personal data protection and fostering trust in digital transactions, aligning with the objectives of Vision 2030.
