Saudi Arabia Stands Firm Against Palestinian Displacement at OIC Summit

Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan firmly rejected calls to displace Palestinians or impose unfair solutions. He emphasized Palestinians’ right to self-determination and warned of regional and global repercussions.

Prince Faisal stressed the need for a sustained Gaza ceasefire. He urged accountability for Israel’s adherence to international law during the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Jeddah.

OIC Leaders Unite Against Gaza Crisis

The minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to advancing the two-state solution through the Two-State Solution Coalition. He also welcomed Syria’s reinstatement to the OIC, expressing optimism about its contributions.

OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha endorsed Gaza’s reconstruction plan, demanding financial and political support. He warned against Israel’s efforts to undermine Palestinian refugee rights, stressing UNRWA’s vital role.

Global Action Urged to Address Humanitarian Catastrophe

Taha condemned Israel’s occupation, settlement expansions, and Al-Quds “Judaization.” He highlighted urgent needs: ending Gaza’s siege, halting mass arrests, and rebuilding destroyed infrastructure.

The Secretary-General called for immediate international intervention to ensure a permanent ceasefire, Israeli withdrawal, and unrestricted humanitarian aid access. He insisted displaced Palestinians must return home safely.

Taha urged global support for the Palestinian government’s governance in Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem. Meanwhile, Palestinian PM Mohamed Mustafa echoed demands for sovereignty and reconstruction.

The summit featured speeches from Cameroon, Gambia, and Arab League representatives, showcasing unified Islamic and Arab stances. Leaders stressed solidarity to end the crisis and achieve lasting peace.
