The Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) has taken part in the opening of the restoration and expansion project of the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital in Ghana, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The ceremony highlighted the attendance of the SFD’s Director General of Africa Operations, Mohammed bin Adhan Al-Shammari, the Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the Saudi Ambassador in Ghana, Sultan Al-Dakhil.
With a total value of $32 million, the SFD is financing the expansion project of the hospital through two phases and two development loans.
The project included the construction of various buildings dedicated for specialized medical departments, emergencies, maternity and children’s wards, and emergency units.
Furthermore, the project has equipped all units with modern medical capabilities to reduce the spread of diseases and epidemics and raise the level of integrated health care.
The restoration project of Bolgatanga Regional Hospital represents one of the 10 development projects and programs financed by the SFD in Ghana through soft development loans with a total value of more than $124 million.
The funds aim at flourishing and strengthening various sectors in Ghana including education, health, transportation, energy, and agriculture.
