Saudi Crown Prince receives the President of South Africa

Saudi Crown Prince HRH Mohammed bin Salman received President Cyril Ramaphosa of the Republic of South Africa at the Royal Court at Al Salam Palace in Jeddah. 

 

An official reception ceremony was held. The Crown Prince and the President of South Africa after that, held a session of official talks, during which they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and aspects of cooperation in various fields. 

 

The talks session was attended by Prince Turki Abdulaziz, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet, Prince Abdulaziz Nayef, Minister of Interior, Prince Abdullah bin Bandar, Minister of National Guard and a group of officials. 

 

On the South African side, the Minister of Cooperation and International Relations, Dr. Naledi Pandor, and the South African Ambassador to the Kingdom, Mojobo Magabe, and a group of ministers and officials attended. 

 

His Royal Highness the Saudi Crown Prince and the President of South Africa witnessed a ceremony of exchanging an agreement, a cooperation program and bilateral memoranda of understanding between the two countries, as follows: 

 

First: 

 

A memorandum of understanding for cooperation and news exchange between the Saudi Press Agency and the state-run South African News Agency between the Minister of Information in charge, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, and the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Ibrahim Patel. 

 

Second: 

 

Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of South Africa for cooperation in the field of direct investment promotion between the Minister of Investment, Eng. Khalid Al-Falih, and the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Ibrahim Patel. 

 

Third: 

Memorandum of Understanding between the Special Economic Cities and Zones Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Competition of the Republic of South Africa to cooperate in their areas of competence 

 

 

Fourth: 

Memorandum of Understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of South Africa for cooperation in the field of communications and information technology. 

 

Fifth: 

A draft memorandum of understanding regarding the study of establishing a joint investment fund between the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef and the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Ibrahim Patel. 

 

Sixth: 

Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of South Africa for technical cooperation in the fields of agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture. 

 

Seventh: 

A memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of social development between the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef and the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Ibrahim Patel. 

 

Eighth: 

A cooperation agreement between the Kingdom and the Republic of South Africa in the field of maritime transport between the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, and the Minister of Transport, Fikili April Mbalola. 

 

Ninth: 

Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of South Africa on the mutual recognition of seafarers’ certificates. 

 

Tenth: 

A memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of health between the Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, and the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Competition Ibrahim Patel.
