Ukraine’s president thanks Saudi Crown Prince over financial assistance
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for Saudi Arabia’s support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity during the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.
Zelensky said during a telephone conversation with the Saudi crown prince that he agreed with him to continue to be involved in the process of releasing prisoners of war, in addition to an agreement on financial aid to Ukraine.
Last September, Russia released 10 foreigners it had captured in Ukraine, including
5 Britons, two Americans, and a Moroccan, after mediation from Saudi Arabia.
The mediation of the Saudi Crown Prince received wide international praise, with major countries expressing their thanks for Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s humanitarian efforts.
Earlier last month, Zelensky thanked the Saudi crown prince for his role in facilitating the release of foreigners held captive by Russia.
